If you’ve maintained the position for a while, it’s possible that starting salaries have now out measured your annual raises. It’s an unfortunate fact, but those who remain loyal to a company for many years will often be subject to pay compression, while others who bounce around from job to job will likely find it easier to grow their annual salary.
According to salary.com, the annual median salary for an HR manager is $97,860– ranging usually between range usually between $86,079-$110,165. Any freelancers or remote workers out there? The average national hourly rate for an HR professional is $21/hour, with the peak reaching up to $40. This can of course depend on a variety of factors, but these are solid numbers from which to judge your current compensation.
Payscale conducted a survey of nearly 3,000 human resources professionals, in which these professionals gave their position a 5 out of 5. Stable job growth, flexibility, and the ability to work with people in a meaningful way were all listed as benefits.
