Tell us a little about your work experience in HR.
My first HR role was as a recruiter and my second job out of college was with a company that was growing rapidly but didn’t have much HR structure in place. That gave me a great opportunity to get into other areas of HR and grow my skill set. They also supported me getting my PHR and then SPHR.
What are the unique talents you bring to the field?
I don’t know if I’d call it unique, but my biggest attribute is my ability to develop strong relationships across organizations and to be a resource for both management and employees. I really enjoy working with people from all walks of life and really getting to know them.
What’s your favorite HR tech tool?
A strong ATS is a must for any HR department in my experience. I am currently using Newton for an ATS and think it is a great value for the price. I would recommend it to other smaller sized companies.
As an HR professional, how do you handle recruiting?
Hiring the best people, especially in today’s job market, is one of the most important things you can do for your organization. At the end of the day, you’re only as good as the team you surround yourself with.
What do you hope to achieve in 2018?
Continue to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. I recently started in my current role and am excited to build on the existing department.
